Operatives of the (EFCC) have arrested Lagos socialite, Emeka Okonkwo Daniel, also known as E-Money, over allegations of abusing the Naira note and defacing foreign currencies.

According to sources within the commission, E-Money was taken into custody on Monday night at his residence in the Omole area of Lagos.

The arrest follows allegations that the socialite was involved in the illegal act of spraying United States dollars, an activity that allegedly violates the Foreign Exchange Act.

An EFCC source disclosed to Punch, “On Monday night, we arrested E-Money for Naira abuse and defacing foreign currencies. Specifically, he was alleged to have sprayed U.S. dollars, which is against the Foreign Exchange Act.”

The source further revealed that E-Money is currently undergoing preliminary investigations and will be charged in court once the investigation is concluded.

“He was arrested at his Omole, Lagos residence. Preliminary investigations are ongoing, and he will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the source confirmed.

Another source, who requested anonymity, confirmed to Punch that E-Money is being flown to Abuja for further questioning regarding the matter. The source added, “Yes, he has been arrested and is being flown to Abuja as I speak, to face investigators on the issue.”

The family of renowned juju musician, Sunday Adegeye, popularly known as King , has dismissed rumours circulating about his alleged kidnapping and unknown whereabouts.

Naija News reports that the singer’s daughter, , raised concerns over the whereabouts and well-being of her father.

Damilola voiced her distress, alleging that the musician may be under undue influence and no longer in full control of his finances, suggesting that individuals close to her father, including his manager, could be involved.

She further appealed to the relevant authorities to intervene and investigate the situation.

However, one of Sunny Ade’s children, who also serves as his manager, Dayo Adegeye, issued a statement on Tuesday clarifying that his father is safe and sound.

Dayo described the rumours of Sunny Ade’s kidnapping as a malicious attempt to tarnish the legendary musician’s image.

He said, “We want to assure the public that King Sunny Ade is safe and sound.

“There is no truth to the kidnapping rumor, and we are taking appropriate steps to address the situation and identify those responsible for spreading this false information.

“The King of World Beats, King Sunny Ade, is not abducted or kidnapped by anyone.

“The Adegeye family and King Sunny Ade’s team are working diligently to put an end to the rumour and protect his reputation.

“The public can rest assured that King Sunny Ade is in good health and spirits, and his focus remains on his music and legacy.”

Renowned Juju musician, , has reportedly been kidnapped.

Naija News reports that the singer’s daughter, Damilola Adeniyi, in a series of Instagram posts on Monday, April 28, 2025, raised concerns over the whereabouts and well-being of her father.

Damilola voiced her distress, alleging that the musician may be under undue influence and no longer in full control of his finances, suggesting that individuals close to her father, including his manager, could be involved.

She further appealed to the relevant authorities to intervene and investigate the situation.

She wrote, “I want the authorities to step in. I believe there is financial mismanagement happening, and my father’s welfare is at stake.”

As of the time of filing this report, neither King Sunny Ade nor his management team has issued an official statement regarding Damilola’s claims.

In other news, veteran Fuji musician, , popularly known as K1, that he did not offer any condolences after ’s mother passed away.

Kwam1 had earlier claimed that he supported Kollington during his own mother’s death, however,r his colleague failed to reciprocate the gesture.

Responding to a journalist who inquired about her family, Annie stated that her only family is her two daughters, Isabella and Olivia, whom she considers her “backbone.”

Speaking in pidgin, she said, “You mean my children? My children dey Kampe. The first one dey Yankee, she dey go school. No play with that girl o. I don’t play with my kids. Na them be my backbone.”

Nigerian singer, Crown Uzama, professionally known as , has vowed never to attend the subsequent Headies Award after the organisers of the 17th edition in Lagos on Sunday failed to present him a plaque for the category he won.

Naija News reports that Shallipopi, who lost the keenly contested ‘Next Rated’ category to his colleague, Odumodublvck, received a consolation after his song ‘Cast’ was announced as the winner of the ‘Best Rap Single of the Year’.

However, the presenter surprisingly gave Shallipopi a handshake on stage as the organisers reportedly ran out of award plaques midway through the award ceremony.

Embarrassed by the situation, Shallipopi, in a post via his 𝕏  handle on Monday, April 28, 2025, vowed to boycott subsequent award ceremonies.

Shallipopi further claimed that he didn’t even want the award for ‘Best Rap Single’ because he does not consider himself a rapper.

The music star urged the Headies Award organisers to give the award to the real rappers in the category.

Efe claimed that the late musician was nominated by the organisers because they wanted to chase clout.

Naija News reports that Mohbad was nominated for the 17th edition of the Headies in two categories – the Best Street-Hop Artiste of the year and the Viewers’ Choice Award for his collaboration with Chike.

The singer’s widow, Omowunmi and their son received the posthumous honour in Lagos on Sunday.

However, reacting to the development in a video on social media, Carter Efe accused the awards organisers of having ulterior motives.

He stated that Headies has never given an award to Mohbad when he was alive, but are doing so now after his death.

He said in pidgin: “Why Headies dey misbehave now, them go dey nominate Mohbad? Wetin make them nominate Mohbad? But when the boy was alive them no go give am o. Anything for the clout na him Headies go dey do.”

Mohbad, who is yet to be buried, died in September 2023 under controversial circumstances.

Meanwhile, Nigerian media Personality, Ojuolape Kayode, popularly known as Do2dtun, has berated reality star, Whitemoney, over his tribal remarks at the 17th Headies Awards ceremony.

Naija News learnt that Whitemoney, in his acceptance speech while receiving the Afrobeats Single Of the Year award on behalf of singer Flavour at the ceremony held at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos on Sunday, said he was on the stage on behalf of the Igbos.

However, the statement displeased some viewers, who accused him of tribalism for narrowing Flavour’s fan base to the Igbo folks.

Reacting via his 𝕏 handle, Do2dtun slammed Whitemoney for bringing tribal sentiment into the award ceremony, stressing that the award won by Flavour was for all Afrobeats fans.

He wrote, “’On behalf of the Igbos.’ I am sorry, that was so unnecessary. It didn’t need that type of narrative. It’s an award won by an African; for Afrobeat and a Nigerian. #headies2025”

Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, has disclosed how she began seeing a therapist after some netizens mocked her for leaving one husband for another.

The thespian lamented that there was a video on social media where some women were mocking her for not having a husband.

According to her, the mockery made her tougher and fired her on to the successes she is recording as a filmmaker.

She, however, stated that she was so affected with the mockery from people that she had to speak to a therapists to get better.

Akindele spoke while sharing her life story along with other artistes on the Chude Live Conversation Show on Sunday.

Other creatives voices who spoke at the event are Falz and Kiekie, Veekee James, Moses Bliss, Taaooma, and Hauwa Lawal.

Sharing her experience, Akindele said the live show was for the audience to listen to celebrities on how they shared their stories, pains and joy.

Akindele said, “There was a video on social media that some women mocked me that I don’t have a husband.

“My God. I see all the insults on social media. I see all the posts that show how I left one husband for another one.

“I cried, cried, and cried. I just told myself, you need to speak to someone about this. You can’t continue like this.

“I told myself that I needed to speak, I reached out, and I started speaking. After then, I felt better. Things I couldn’t tell people out there. I spoke to my therapist and I was better.

“So, I want to advise you out there. It’s very important for you to speak up. You need it. You can’t take everything. I’m a very strong person now. I have that strength to face any challenges in life.

“After the whole blackmailing, I got tougher. I started putting the story about my life into writing, even though I almost lost it mentally, but I used the mockery to produce a film.”

Nigerian gospel musician, , has clarified that he has no feud with his protege, Ebuka Songs.

Naija News reports that there have been ongoing rumours surrounding Ebuka Songs’ departure from Moses Bliss’ record label, sparking diverse reactions among their fans.

However, addressing the viral speculations during an interview at the inaugural live edition of ‘WithChude’ podcast, Bliss described the rumours of their fallout as false.

While describing Ebuka as a great guy, Bliss said, the singer is impacting life and will do greater things with good mentors beside him.

The singer added that he is unbothered about the rumours of a fight, and he is rejoicing and rooting for Ebuka Songs.

He said, “We’re humans, and you feel a certain way if people misconstrue your intentions. But I’m very concerned about impressing God. My intentions are very pure, and everything is born out of love.

“Ebuka is a great guy. I think the world has not seen the best of him yet. I feel like he still has greater years, and with good mentors, he’s going to do even greater things. He is definitely not where he used to be and not how he met us. He is doing good for the kingdom. And he is impacting lot of lives. Seeing just that alone, my joy is full. I don’t care what anybody thinks, I’m rejoicing and rooting for him.”
